Our creative team helped guide entrepreneurs from UNF’s Startup Cohort through the creative process of crafting an impactful business pitch deck.
Entrepreneurs in the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation program at the University of North Florida.
Understanding the creative process is the building block for pitching a successful business to investors.
In-class presentations, group strategy workshops, and one-on-one meetings with each entrepreneur.
Before crafting their pitch decks, which were later presented to a group of judges in a Shark Tank-esque competition, our creative team ensured that each entrepreneur filled out a creative brief. The creative brief sets the stage for their creative process, helping them answer all the important questions that need to be answered in order to make their pitches informative, persuasive and visually appealing.
We also consulted with entrepreneurs who already had live websites, such as Baby Boldly’s ecommerce site on Shopify, to review data analytics and user tracking.
The creative brief asks everything an entrepreneur should consider to ensure their brand’s pitch makes an impact on their audience and investors. It ensures that they understand their message, audience and marketing strategies, as well as allows them to visualize the aesthetics of their branding.
This is how they decide everything from what their logo and website look like to who they want to advertise to, what platforms they’ll advertise on, and how they’ll maximize ROI. Having this knowledge prior to presenting was key to ensuring their pitches conveyed each slide of their deck in a clear and concise way.
We also supported custom logo design, digital strategy, wireframing, and web dev for entrepreneurs like Kozco Technology, which they were able to use as resources for their startup.
Our team sat down with each entrepreneur to discuss goals and objectives of their pitch presentation. We also answered questions pertaining to their pitch deck content and designs, as well as presentation presence, to help them feel confident and ready for competition day.
After weeks of hard work and thoughtfully creating their business pitches, the entrepreneurs presented their pitch decks to a group of judges and live audience for a chance to win a grand prize of $5,000 to jump start their business. Our team had the honor of attending the pitch competition and cheering on each participant as they pitched their business plans with confidence, excitement, and a newfound knowledge of the creative process.
