A streamlined, custom, nonprofit-managed wordpress experience married with a complex ruby application.
While thinking through the layout and structure of the site, our creative advertising and marketing agency had to keep in mind the sensitivity that the content of this site holds. We planned out and wireframed a layout that told the story of the organization, and of each and every victim added to the growing list for advocacy. The nonprofit also needed an easy way for volunteers, staff, and other organizations to make donations and get engaged. Below are screenshots of our work to support these goals:
With almost a decade of support and advocacy, the nonprofit has quickly become a resource for law enforcement and media to tap into for access to victim stories, images, etc. To help manage the media being borrowed and leveraged by other organizations, our creative design team built out a custom branding and media kit page to support access, while controlling the assets to ensure attribution.
In addition to a brand new frontend web experience, the Project: Cold Case advocacy team communicated they needed a place to store all the information associated to each victim, survivor and each case. To fulfill this need, we developed a custom ruby application that collects new case submissions from the website, and automatically passes the details through to the Victim CRM application.
Once vetted and approved by an admin, the application passes the data once more and creates profiles for each individual, victim and survivor. Furthermore, it stores documents, pictures, touchpoints from meetings, case details, social channels and links, and so much more. This custom database was made to be easily searchable to find any supporting content the organization, law enforcement, or a family member may need. Also, to track follow ups, anniversaries, and contact information for the Project: Cold Case team to stay in touch with the families.
It’s in our agency DNA to give, and our commitment to our community to help in any way we can. This was the single most difficult and longest project we’ve ever worked on in the 14 years in business. So many hours dedicated to the custom processes, the technical details, planning, hosting, security, intuitive design, implementation and integration with existing platforms, etc. We’re so proud of the work completed behind the scenes and would love to apply our experience to your nonprofit, to bring light to this world.
