Word of Mouth Marketing Association

5ivecanons was invited to speak at the Word of Mouth Marketing Association’s conference in Chicago to share our success in the Check-in for free chicken promotion.

Word of Mouth Marketing Association’s Social & Mobile Session, presented by 5ivecanons. Just under 400 communication professionals from around the world attended the School of WOM. This is the recap:

School of WOM

“School of WOM focuses on the Art (hands on) and Science (ROI) of ensuring your brand remains talkable, searchable, and recommendable. School of WOM will equip you with what you “need to know” and then “what to do” in advancing your WOM and social marketing efforts to the next level.”

The Word of Mouth Marketing Association recognized our forward thinking and innovative approach to building on brand equity using social and mobile, but they invited our team to speak about how we leveraged those components and turned the customers into the ad message.

Breakout Session Gallery

5ivecanons was one of the first groups to speak at the conference, leading a breakout session entitled, “Creating Raving Fans Through Mobile Marketing.” Todd Coleman, owner and operator of the Chick-fil-A in Marsh Landing, joined the team on stage to talk about the promotion from the brand’s perspective.

Justin Dennis, 5ivecanon’s digital strategist, brought a new way of thinking about economies of scale, Moore’s law and the costs associated to technology – to the forefront of the presentation. His insight into the growth of mobile, even in smaller markets like Jacksonville, helped give the audience a better idea of how Geo-social and mobile can drive transactions.

The audience was receptive and engaged in a thorough Q&A session after the presentation, that was more like a free form discussion rather than a typical Q&A. It was an incredible experience for our team and it put the Jacksonville advertising agency on the map as one of the leading shops that are pushing for mobile and social brand experiences.

Before the conference was over, everyone who attended had heard about the promotion that boosted a local Chick-fil-A’s revenue by over 10% in just one day – through word of mouth.
